I am long over due for blog post, but I took a beating in March and my energy to bring my fingers to type. I have words in my head I want to get out but for now I am sharing this:
Hi fellow followers and supporters! We need your help in making a big Joy in May happen! Our dreams are big so we are starting early! We want to collect 250 receiving blankets for the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital NICU to use in their baby warmers. Charlotte spent most of her time in the NICU in a warmer and when we brought in our own blankets to cover the mattress pads, it made it feel like she was actually our baby, not just a baby hooked up to wires and machines! The awesome news is that the NICU does some of their own laundry so you can donate new or gently used receiving blankets you no longer need anymore! They will be able to wash them and use them over and over to make the families feel like they actually have a newborn in front of them!
If you wish to donate gently used blankets, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to coordinate getting a mailing address or dropping off!
If you would prefer to help us on our mission by purchasing new ones, we have created an online charity registry at Target that will automatically send them to us to help you, or we will take any new ones you think would look awesome for the babies!
If you go to the store in person, you can find the list under "Seize Your Joy" or my name "Tracy Umezu" at the customer service registry kiosks.
I included some pictures of what they standardly use right now in the warmers - sterile looking striped ones and a picture of Charlotte in her own bedding - what a huge difference this makes for parents seeing their newborns in the medical setting! We cannot do this one without your help!
Email with any questions at Seizeyourjoy@gmail.com As always thank you for supporting us on this and every endeavor! #seizeyourjoy #joyforcharlotte #scn2a
